Born in Abu Dhabi and educated in London, Azza obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Silversmithing, Jewellery and Allied Crafts from London Guildhall University and the HRD Institute of Gemology in Antwerp, Belgium. She also has an MBA in Creative and Cultural Industries from HCT-CERT in Abu Dhabi.

Azza has built an impressive portfolio over the years. She created and launched the brand Arjmst: The Arabian Workshop for Jewellery and Gemstones in Abu Dhabi, a line of jewellery that captures the elements of nature and reflects the spirit of the culture of the UAE. She also founded the Voice Gallery in 2007 that specialises in designer jewellery, the first gallery of its kind in Dubai. For her designs, Azza draws inspiration from the UAE’s breathtaking desert environment and its deep-rooted traditions. Her ‘Emirates’ collection represents the UAE in a modern vision, with each jewellery piece designed to reflect the interaction between the pride of the past and the vision of the future.

Azza is also the first to design and produce Emirati corporate gifts and trophies, including the ones awarded at Million’s Poet and the Middle East International Film Festival in Abu Dhabi. Her work encompasses education and philanthropy; she established an NGO (non-governmental organisation) project in 2006 to develop and promote local handicrafts through ‘Made In UAE’ shops, and developed a handicraft cultural exchange programme that showcased products from different parts of the world.

Azza recently launched a local initiative in Madinat Zayed called Lamst Ibdaa, bringing together a group of nine talented graduating UAE designers passionate about designing for the development of their community.

She is the recipient of several prestigious awards.
